I spent a long time thinking about what I could give you this year.
Flowers disappear.
Gifts get put away.
Photos slowly disappear into our camera rolls.
So I wanted to make somewhere for a few of our memories to stay.
I still remember that afternoon in the fields.
You were picking little yellow flowers and told me that ordinary days like that were better than expensive dates.
I don't know if you even remember saying it.
But I do.
And somehow, after almost three years with you, I realized that most of my favorite memories aren't the big ones.
They're the walks.
The random conversations.
The photos we almost didn't take.
The places we stopped for no reason.
The quiet days when nothing important happened.
I think that's what I love most about us.
You made ordinary days feel worth remembering.
Happy birthday.
I hope we get many more ordinary days together.
